What Influences Design?

Abstract

There are numerous factors which affect the design of a product. When innovation happens the value of the product is changed through its design .This paper attempts to answer the question of what influences design in the automobile industry. This paper attempts to document the way in which design is influenced by aesthetics ,functionality ,users especially among automobiles be they bus, car or rickshaw by using secondary data after doing a literature review on the topic of design. Upon studying the various papers on the topic and trying to analyse the data found it was found that among the various factors of design user centred design has affected the way in which a product is made .The scope of the paper is limited to automobiles only.
